CALLING THE NEXT GENERATION CYBER DEFENSE LEADERS - ARE YOU ONE OF THEM?
We don't encourage everyone to enroll for this course. We offer specialized training in cyber defense strategy execution. But, the curriculum is only meant for those who have the AMBITION AND POTENTIAL TO LEAD!
ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?
Cyber defense transformations are not something that everyone can handle. However, if you can say that:
• I believe Advanced Persistent Threat (APTs) need to be tackled before they create a business-disruption security crisis.
• I believe that it's time to start implementing competitive security strategies.
• I believe it's time to enhance my program management skills and beat cyber attackers at their own game.
Go Right Ahead! Because this course has been designed for managers and leaders like you!
LIVING ON BORROWED TIME
If we don't start running NOW, we'll run out of runway!
It not a secret anymore, what was previously considered prudent cyber security strategy, is no longer working. As per Verizon's "2011 Data Breach Investigations Report" the number of attacks launched online against businesses have gone up by a factor of FIVE in 5 years!
So, for any organization it's a matter of WHEN an APT will attack and not IF! It's almost as if we are sitting on a ticking time bomb. We have two choices: wait for it to explode or start acting now to diffuse it, and protect ourselves!
Some of the biggest organizations and even nation states have already fallen prey to cyber criminals. Not because they didn't have any security systems in place, but because they did not implement their next generation, 2.0 security strategies quick enough. The result -- they lost out to the competition.
Take the case of RSA, which experienced a highly damaging phishing attack in 2011. It all started with one their employees unknowingly opening a malicious attachment.
According to their own open letter, 'the attack resulted in certain information being extracted from RSA's systems. Some of that information is specifically related to RSA's SecurID two-factor authentication products.'
This one event has put enough doubt that SecureID tokens are still trusted for use. The result--RSA's previously stable cash cow / dominating position in two-factor authentication has destabilized, allowing more secure entrants like PIV-I credential service providers to gain market share. This is just one example of how an APT attack has caused serious business disruptions.
It could be your organization next!
THE GAME HAS CHANGED
As per FBI data, the most common forms of attacks are:
• Zero Day Exploits
• Spear Phishing
• Botnets
• Compromised Websites
You know that we are no longer dealing with script kiddies or even hacking groups. It's now cyber warfare and organized crime syndicates vs. us -- the practitioners who need to build a secure cyber future.
Fact is that our current security practices were great at protecting our data from mischief making script kiddies. But, we are now dealing with far more sophisticated and meticulously planned attacks.
The question you need to ask yourself is, "Am I ready to up my game and get a step ahead or am I prepared to face the consequences of lagging behind?"
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT SKILLS ARE THE KEY
Implementing Competitive Security Strategies can be a daunting task, and statistically, transformational strategies are only implemented successfully 10% of the time.
The good news is that Program Management Skills are the proven factor in turning a great strategic plan on paper into real business benefits.
Unfortunately, the current cyber security workforce - the people that see the need and know what needs to be done - are frequently not trained in HOW to make such sweeping changes!
IT'S TIME FOR CYBER DEFENSE LEADERS
Organizations today need Cyber Defense Leaders - managers that they can trust to implement competitive security strategies, taking them to the next safe haven, as quickly and cost effectively as possible.
So you need to decide -- "Do I see myself as a cyber defense leader?" If yes, then Go Right Ahead and get set to enroll in the 'Strategy Execution for Cyber Defense' course!
The course is purposely built to share with you:
• The most advanced program management practices.
• How to apply and adapt them to the unique nature of cyber security initiatives.
THE 'STRATEGY EXECUTION FOR CYBER DEFENSE' COURSE
This isn't your average program management course. It's tailored for the unique needs of cyber defense initiatives. Even if you are an established program manager, you will reap great benefits from the course, as we dissect what is unique about cyber security initiatives.
Here are the key benefits that the course offers:
• Learn proven practices and governance structures with the solid foundation of Michel Thiry's text.
• See exactly how to apply these proven practices to solve your cyber defense challenges, with the help of tailored content, case studies, and enabling technology surveys.
• Practice, Practice, Practice with our computer simulations! Just like a fighter pilot, you will train in real time simulated environments.
• Practice your new program management skills and apply your knowledge using our innovative real-life program management simulation engine, and event generating algorithms.
• Learn and apply program management techniques in the safety of our classroom environment. After all, learning on the job is just too dangerous for the important transformational work you will be leading.
• Decode complex attacks and understand why our current defenses are not adequate.
• Get access to all information about the state of the art security technologies, such as PIV-I smartcards, that are readily available today.
• Valense is a Project Management Institute (PMI®) Global Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.), therefore you will be eligible for Professional Development Units (PDU) from the PMI when you attend our classes.
Our course covers core program management theory as well as specialized topics, like:
• How to Effectively Communicate with a sea of stakeholders?
• Decision Making in the crowd.
THE INSTRUCTORS
This course is prepared and delivered in collaboration with Valense Organizational Consultants, an organization that is widely recognized for leading developments in Program Management core theory.
Michel Thiry, Managing Partner at Valense, authored the highly acclaimed book, "Program Management", and teaches the core program management theory modules. Michel is a regular Keynote Speaker for major International events, Seminar Leader for PMI® SeminarsWorld since 2001, and was elected PMI Fellow for his continued contribution to project management in 2007.
James Ryan, Managing Partner at Litmus Logic, has been on the forefront of advising and implementing competitive security strategies, such as PIV-I and ICAM Segment Architectures, for early adopters. James teaches modules on 1) How to apply and tailor the core theory to the cyber defense domain and 2) Survey of enabling security technologies that can be readily adopted today.
Larry Suda is an expert in improving business performance through the use of learning technologies. Larry crafted "The Project Leadership Simulation Experience ™" workshop currently in use by a wide range of clients in Global 500 corporations, public sector organizations and within executive education programs, at leading business schools.
Larry leads our computer simulation exercises, where you will practice what you learning using simulations that are tailored to the unique nature of cyber defense initiatives. Larry's instructions during the simulations literally 'cement' everything you learn in the class.
DO YOU HAVE IT IN YOU?
You have to pass our test at the end of the class to become a Certified Cyber Defense Program Manager.
This isn't a rubber stamp certificate, and that is what makes it valuable to you. We want to make sure that when you earn your certificate, the world see you as a CYBER DEFENSE LEADER.
